Pet AI Fix Incoming Next Week

For those of you who have pets in-game, you may have noticed that this patch did not repair the issue with pet ai that was introduced with last week’s patch. This issue occurs when players lose control of their pets, resulting in pets that do not attack. Pets that do not respond are simply useless.

Funcom is aware of this issue and has issued a statement promising that a fix would be put in place next week, on July 30th. This “fix” will not only repair the new issues with pets but will improve the overall AI of pets. In fact, pets should work better than they ever have before after next week’s patch.

AoC Moviewatcher’s Club: Meph’s No Gimmicks- Part 2

Mephs has gained a bit of a reputation in the Age of Conan community for being a guru on Assassin and melee PvP tactics after his melee tutorial video and his first PvP movie: No Gimmicks.

Well, Mephs is not one to disappoint so he has released a brand new video entitled No Gimmicks: Part 2. This video has all of the action of the first video and more, such as the very entertaining sing-a-long at the beginning of this movie (great job on this guys!). Mephs writes:

“By no means am I out to show anything more than that there’s more to AoC PvP than walking up to people and hitting 2 buttons, underneath that exterior is an engrossing and robust combat system that, when taken advantage of, can make even the most “gimp” of classes a powerhouse. While I’m constantly told I should roll another class that is more powerful, I’m constantly drawn to using an underdog character to make my claim.”

Straight from the Devs: Necromancer Changes

Necromancers were expecting a big buff after today’s patch, but most necromancers are actually reporting lower dps! As a result, many necromancers are feeling cheated. In order to respond to these angry feelings, Jayde, a Funcom System Designer, has compiled a thread detailing the changes and the developers explanation of them. Jayde writes:

AoE Damage Modifications
Parasitic Soul Swarm and Unholy Hands were dealing significantly more damage than similar spells and rebalanced to do the correct damage for AoE-based spells.

Similarly, the Archmagus pet was dealing roughly 25% higher base damage than intended and was lowered. This was a decrease of roughly 25% without feats, and 20% with feats. This is also in line with other AoE effects in the game.
